Privacy Policy
We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. Learn how we collect, use, and safeguard your data.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Jarvva ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. When you visit our website and use our marketplace services (both Digital and Physical markets), you trust us with your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the platform, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products, or when you participate in activities on the marketplace.
- Account Data: Full name, email address, and encrypted passwords.
- Financial Data: Wallet balances, transaction history, and payout request details. We use Paystack as our payment processor; we do not store your credit card details directly on our servers.
- KYC (Know Your Customer) Data: To become a verified vendor, you must upload a government-issued ID. These documents are securely stored and strictly used for identity verification and fraud prevention.
- Transaction & Escrow Data: Information regarding the products you buy or sell, order statuses, and dispute histories.
- Communications: Messages sent through our built-in buyer-vendor chat system. We store these messages specifically to assist in resolving escrow disputes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect or receive for various business purposes, including:
- To facilitate account creation and logon process: We use your email and password to manage your account.
- To manage transactions and escrow: We use your data to facilitate the safe transfer of funds between buyers and sellers.
- To enforce our terms and resolve disputes: Chat logs and order histories are reviewed by our Admin team solely in the event of an Escrow dispute or reported fraud.
- To process payouts: We use your provided bank details (managed via our payment gateways) to process withdrawals from your Jarvva wallet.
- To prevent fraud: Your KYC documents help us maintain a secure marketplace by verifying the identities of our vendors.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
- Between Buyers and Sellers: When you purchase a physical item, your name and shipping details (provided in the order chat) will be visible to the seller so they can deliver your product.
- Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors (like Paystack) to process payments and handle infrastructure.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
5. Data Security
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Passwords are hashed using modern cryptographic algorithms, and KYC documents are stored in protected directories inaccessible to the general public. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). Escrow and transaction records are retained indefinitely for fraud prevention and accounting.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, please contact our support team. Note that data related to completed financial transactions and KYC records for banned accounts may be retained for legal and security purposes.
